2013 Nissan GT-R: was unveiled today, with the Japanese carmaker releasing all the details of the updated version of the supercar. For the 2013 model year, Nissan is offering an even more powerful version of the GT-R, which also features several design changes. Nissan's 2013 GT-R has 20 PS and 20 Nm of torque more than the 2012 version. This means the total output of the car is now 550PS at 6,400rpm and 632Nm of torque between 3,200 and 5,800 rpm.

To get the extra horsepowers, Nissan improved the 2013 GT-R's intake efficiency, exhaust emissions efficiency and enhanced its control. The 2013 GT-R has a lower airflow resistance thanks to a modified intake manifold, and a smaller and lighter under floor catalyser. Other changes brought by the 2013 GT-R's engine include new valve control and ignition timings, a new air mixture ratio, and a metallic sodium-filled exhaust valve.

2013 Nissan 370Z: was presented today during the opening of the 2012 Chicago auto show. The 2013 370Z will be made available in Nissan dealerships from June. We're still waiting for Nissan to announce its pricing information. The new Z-car comes with several exterior design updates, and a few technical improvements. The fresh new front fascia of the Nissan 370Z 2013 now features LED daytime running lights, and a slightly modified bumper.

At the rear, the facelifted 370Z features a red deflector, which replaces the previous black one. Nissan is also offering new sets of 18- and 19-inch alloys, red brake calipers, and two new exterior colors (Magma Red and Midnight Blue). The interior changes brought by the 2013 Nissan 370Z are minimal. The only thing we managed to notice is the darker fuel gauge trim. For 2013, the 370Z continues to be powered by Nissan's 3.7-liter DOHC V6 engine, which is good for 332 hp. The 6-speed manual transmission and the 7-speed automatic gearbox continue to be on the menu too.

2012 Nissan GT R: If the rumours rising from Japan are correct, the next generation of Nissan’s shrieking beast could go hybrid when it is launched around 2012. Earlier this month Japan’s Best Car Magazine said the new model would be powered by a 328kW petrol engine and a 119kW electric motor, combining for a total max output of 447kW (or a nice round 600hp).

Despite the absolute commitment of Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn to electric vehicles as the future of his company, March’s Geneva Motor Show played host to the Infiniti Essence a 441kW 3.7-litre twin-turbo V6 hybrid. At the time, spokesman for Nissan’s luxury division, Shiro Nakamura, said that the coupe (built on the same platform as the GT-R) was “only a showpiece for now”. But the latest reports suggest that a hybrid GT-R is a favoured project among Nissan engineers and could be within three years of a launch. Edmunds Inside Line says it expects the GT-R to maintain its 3.8-litre V6 but still aim for the 450kW combined output, raising power by close to 100kW over the current 357kW unit.
