2013 Mustang GT500: GT500 has a supercharged 5.8-liter V-8 engine that produces 650 hp and 600 tire-shredding lb-ft of torque figures that easily trump the outputs of Chevrolet’s Camaro ZL1. On top of that, the 2013 GT500 gains electronic launch control, a carbon-fiber driveshaft, larger Brembo brakes, and Bilstein adaptive dampers. The Mustang Boss 302 also scores some changes in the form of retro-inspired graphics.
Designed to look like the Trans-Am-winning Boss 302 race cars of 1970, the 2013 Boss gets new reflective stripes and an available School Bus Yellow paint job. Racer Parnelli Jones would be proud. Regardless of which version you pick, the Mustang enters the new model year with a tweaked face and tail. The headlights (now HIDs as standard) have new LED running lights, and the front fascia is slightly revised. New LED taillights and a blacked-out trunklid round out the visual changes at the rear.
