2012 Skoda Geneva: Czechoslovakia must not be a country where people fool around because after promising a new concept for the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, Skoda actually came up with it. Here it is and its called the Vision D. Since the name does tend to tip people off lets just say that its more of a design language showcase than a concept. I like modern Skodas, theyve really improved considerably lately and this new look will probably do the same for their aesthetics.

While technically the new cars are considerably improved vehicles, modern Skodas are as dull as watching hair grow on bald people. The best part of the Skoda Vision D concept and its looks is how they managed to look modern without feeling like its crazy. This is the sort of car that appeals to all sorts of markets and people. And as far as the products are concerned I guess Skoda has quite the experience with markets and people given their recent sales figures.

2013 Skoda Octavia

2013 Skoda Octavia: Skoda claims the new Octavia is the roomiest car in its class, with big emphasis placed on the extra 73mm of knee and 980mm of rear headroom. It's the 108mm increase in wheelbase that's made the difference inside.The boot is also a class best, at 590 litres (up from 585 in the old car). Overall, the Octavia's entire body has grown 90mm in length and 45mm in height, pushing the Octavia into mid-size saloon territory.

Less weight and a lower drag coefficient help the new Octavia's efficiency cause, along with a fleet of four petrol and four diesel engines. The eco-minded Greenline model gets a 109bhp 1.6-litre TDI engine that emits 89g/km of CO2 and drinks a gallon of diesel every 83 miles. A natural gas-fuelled motor with extra-low CO2 output will follow later, as will go-faster vRS models.
